It is actually
the biggest helicopter meeting in Europe. Since its creation, five
years ago, its notoriety has not stopped increasing.

In 2002, the dynamic display showed
various aircrafts among which EH-101 from RAF and Royal Navy, a
Swiss Super-Puma, a French navy Lynx
There was also the famous
German Aviation School's solo display on Bö-105.
The static display was composed of 60 aircrafts. Every existing
kind of helicopter have been invited since the beginning of this
adventure : for example the Apache, Mi 26 (the biggest flying helicopter
in the world), the old Sikorsky 58 or Bell 47, or even the new NH-90
(not operational yet). The event has also gathered exceptional aircrafts
such as a Mi 14 (an amphibian aircraft issued from the Mi 8).

Such an organisation
requires full time work of two persons during the whole year and
it requires more and more time as it is developing. Their main
task today is to look for new sponsors. It is actually on these
latter that relies the quality of the show : number of entrants,
public facilities
Civilians and other units who could be
interested in participating to the meeting are contacted. From
January on, the safety plan is defined between local authorities
and a lot of means are settled in order to cope with any kind
of situation : from the mean of access of the public, to panic
situations.

This meeting
is organised by a man who has a real passion and who is willing
to share this passion with a lot of people (as we are willing
too). In 2003 the meeting will display a wide range of aircrafts
and there will be also an attempt of world record
we will
keep you informed. Belgian Helidays is without any doubt an exceptional
event that should'nt be missed.
